You can aspire to join Merchant Navy course after you complete your Std-12 with 60% marks in PCM. In order to get admission for B.Sc in Nautical Science, you need to crack the IMU-CET exam (especially for admission into Indian Maritime University which has multiple campuses), followed by interview and a medical check-up. Certain government colleges in South India provide admission based on JEE exam. Here you can complete B.Sc in Nautical Science or Dip in nautical science. You can also join Merchant Navy after your regular engineering degree. You can do B.Tech in Marine Engineering or M.B.A in shipping and logistics and still join this field.

Various institutes and universities such as Tolani Maritime Institute, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Indian Maritime University (multiple campuses), Department of Marine Science in Goa University and Delhi Academy of Merchant Navy offer courses in this field.
