Service Before Self - Join CDS
The Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam is a national-level competitive exam conducted twice a year by the UPSC. It is a remarkable opportunity for graduates to serve the country by joining the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force.
Eligibility & Academies
- 🛡️ IMA (Indian Military Academy): Graduate from a recognized University.
- ⚓ INA (Indian Naval Academy): Engineering Degree from a recognized University.
- ✈️ AFA (Air Force Academy): Engineering Degree OR B.Tech (Physics & Maths at 10+2).
- ⚔️ OTA (Officers Training Academy): Graduate from a recognized University.
Age Limit: 20 to 24 years for all posts.
CDS Exam Pattern
For IMA, INA, and AFA (Total 300 Marks):

Syllabus & Selection
Recruitment involves four rounds: Written Exam, SSB Interview, Document Verification, and Medical Examination.
- English: Grammar, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension, and Error Spotting.
- GK: History, Geography, Science, Polity, and Current Affairs (last 4-5 months).
- Math: Arithmetic, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, and Mensuration.
During training, cadets receive a fixed stipend of ₹ 56,100 per month. The IMA provides a Permanent Commission, while the OTA offers a Short Service Commission.
